Building Foundations

Foundations of a modern building are in the vast majority made of reinforced concrete. Concrete is not waterproof and ground water outside of the foundation wall or surface water that seeps in to the ground will eventually find its way to penetrate to the interior. Then it quickly becomes an interior moisture problem. To prevent this, geomembrane (pvc, hdpe etc.) or waterproofing coating is applied to the outside of the foundation. Therefore its crucial to test integrity of such layer and maintain its waterproofing properties.

SENSOR DDS® leak detection methods are quick and easy way to check the integrity of waterproofing of the foundations before its completely buried in the ground.

Solution for building foundations –
SENSOR DDS® MIT Arc Testing

For quick and reliable test of integrity of uncovered geomembrane installed at building foundations is suitable to use our SENSOR DDS® MIT arc tester.

XS model of our Arc Tester is very popular for testing waterproofing of foundations at houses for its compact size what helps to perform the testing at places with limited movability.

In case permanent monitoring of waterproofing of the building foundations is required, SENSOR DDS® Fixed system can be installed.

In double lining system with two layers of geomembrane we offer an automatic SENSOR DDS® RMS with Sensor tiles. This technology allows us to divide the whole area into sectors which are then monitored 24/7. In event of a leak, sector containing a leak will be highlighted on the interior control panel’s screen.

Examples of detected damage at building foundations using SENSOR DDS® technology:

Any leak of the foundations’s waterproofing is detected and located directly during the testing. No post data analyses is necessary

Uncovered pvc geomembrane installed on concrete foundations tested with Arc Tester

Waterproofing of the foundations must be tested prior to installation of next layers

Any leak of the foundations’s waterproofing is detected and located directly during the testing. No post data analyses is necessary

SENSOR DDS® MIT Arc Testing of the commercial building foundations

To prevent moisture problems of the interior walls, integrity of waterproofing coating or pvc membrane must be tested using SENSOR DDS® technology

SENSOR DDS® technology is suitable for testing of any common waterproofing or gas-proofing membrane
