SENSOR DDS® MIT technology was developed specifically for the quality control of exposed geomembrane liners such as synthetic membranes / liners, or asphalt.

Even where the damage is less that 1mm² the equipment will generate an audio visual alarm to warn the Technician that damage has been encountered.

It is employed directly after the installation of a liner. The system electronically verifies the integrity of the entire surface including the welds. This enables us to find all defects (e.g. caused by transit, or following trades) down to pinhole sized damage.

All geomembrane liner installations should be thoroughly tested to ensure that complete integrity exists, prior to the placement of any covering media over the liner.

Defects in new liner installations are nearly always caused by following trades, testing therefore protects both the client and the installation contractor.

The standard quality control systems normally offered by liner installation contractors concentrate on installation defects. These controls will miss damage to the liner, particularly 3rd party damage.

SENSOR DDS® MIT technology will detect even the smallest pinhole of damage, but it cannot be used once the liner is covered.

SENSOR DDS MIT Arc tester can be used on any non-conductive geomembrane (HDPE, LDPE, PVC, Bitumenous, etc.) or conductive-backed geomembrane. Bare geomembrane must be dry and reasonably clean. Among the most used applications are:
